Welcome to RSU 24 Nutrition Services!

A primary goal of nutrition services is to produce healthier foods for our students and to help them establish lifelong healthy eating habits.

We offer all our students healthy and delicious meals daily in accordance with Federal Nutrition Guidelines and the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act. We serve whole grain rich breads, pasta's and grains and offer a variety of fruit and vegetables with all meals. We use only whole muscle chicken and purchase locally grown and sourced whenever possible. All schools participate in the Maine Harvest of the Month program, that can be found on our monthly menus. Qualifying schools also participate in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable program that helps expose students to a variety of fruits and veggies.

All meals will be offered at no charge for the 2023-2024 school year. We do ask that you still fill out the benefit meal application as it helps secure funding for many other programs for our district! You can access the application here https://www.nlappscloud.com/ and it can be filled out anytime throughout the school year.

As stated above all meals are complimentary. A la Carte purchases, such as milk purchased to accompany a lunch brought from home, are not complementary and a student must have a positive balance on their account in order to purchase any a la carte items such as milk not included in a reimbursable meal. High School students may purchase a la carte items along with their meals, however they must have a positive balance or cash to purchase extra a la carte items.

Payments may be made at your student’s school, the District Services Facility or on-line at https://www.myschoolbucks.com/. You will need your student's ID to register. If you do not know it you can obtain this by contacting Melinda Hellum at [email protected]. My school bucks does charge a $2.75 processing fee for every transaction.

All nutrition staff at RSU 24 participate in annual trainings and monthly staff meetings to ensure they are up to date on all policies and procedures. Each school has a Food Service Specialist that you can reach by calling the school and asking for the kitchen, if you desire to speak with them.
