A primary goal of our department is to produce healthier foods for our students and to help educate our students about healthy life-long nutrition.  RSU 24's Wellness Policy and other Nutrition Services policies can be found on the RSU 24 website.

 

We are happy to announce that school meals will be available to all RSU 24 students at no charge this year, regardless of income.   However, it is very important that you complete a Free and Reduced Application. USDA uses the applications as an economic indicator in deciding which grants and programs will be awarded to our district.  Please see below for information on how complete an application online. You may also pick up an application at your school office or contact Melinda Hellum, Food Service Director at 422-2017 x2119 or at [email protected]

 

Complimentary Super Snacks provided by the Child and Adult Care Feeding Program (CACFP) are served on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday every week.  Service time is 3:00PM at the elementary schools and 2:30PM at the high school. Students do not have to be enrolled in any enrichment activity or be a student at the school to receive a Super Snack. For example, they could be from a visiting sports team.

 

As stated above all meals are complimentary. A la Carte purchases, such as milk purchased to accompany a lunch brought from home, are not complimentary and a student must have a positive balance on their account in order to purchase any a la carte items such as milk not included in a reimbursable meal. High School students may purchase a la carte items along with their meals, however they must have a positive balance or cash to purchase extra a la carte items.

 

Payments may be made at your student’s school, the District Services Facility or on-line at https://www.myschoolbucks.com/.  You will need your student's ID to register.  If you do not know it you can obtain this by contacting Melinda Hellum at [email protected].  My school bucks does charge a $2.75 processing fee for every transaction.
