Peninsula After School Program

Welcome to the

After School Program

at

Peninsula School!

The Peninsula After School Program will be open Monday – Thursday, from the end of the school day until 5:00pm. and is open to all K-8 students. Two days each week staff from the EdGE Program will join us to offer a whole host of amazing activities, like only the EdGE Program can!  We look forward to a great year of exciting enrichment opportunities and inspiring activities. Please read below to familiarize yourself with our program.

We have three programs that all fall under the umbrella of the “Peninsula After School Program:” the K-2 Extended Day Program, the After School Program for Grades 3-5, and the REACH program.

K-2 Extended Day Program: This program is specifically designed with our younger students in mind. There is a natural, seamless transition from school day to After School. The afternoon begins with snack, recess, and an afternoon meeting. Second graders are then given the opportunity to complete 20 minutes of independent reading while the younger students are treated to a read-aloud. Second grade students then rejoin the group for a guided recreation/academic enrichment activity.

After School Program for Grades 3-5: For students in this program, the afternoon begins with a snack and recess, followed by a 45-minute homework lab. This is a great opportunity for students to complete daily homework assignments under the supervision of After School staff. Once students have completed their homework, they may choose to participate in one of the activities offered that day.

R.E.A.C.H. Program: Our middle school students hit the books first thing, working on homework and having a snack. Once they have completed their homework, they have a brief recess period followed by a 45-minute activity period designed for them, by them.
