The Hancock Hornets have hornets! Due to issues with our field, we are postponing today's game against Ella Lewis (Steuben) until Monday 5/13. Our Monday game against Lamoine will be taking place AT Lamoine instead of here at HGS. Our home game with Lamoine that was on 5/13 is being re-scheduled, and the date will be announced as soon as possible. This should allow us time to treat our field so it can be played on. Thank you!

One of our students, Trevor Morrison, in 5th grade recently became a semi-finalist in the Letters about Literature contest, put on by the Maine Humanities Council. Out of over 1000 contestants, only 48 were chosen as semi-finalists. Students had to write a letter to an author who has inspired them to change in some way, and Trevor chose the poem "The Road not Taken" by Robert Frost.

Congratulations to Jordan Benoit, Matthew Perconti, and alternate Abby Moon for winning the Hancock Grammar School Speech competition! The district contest will be held on Thursday, 4/25 at 6 p.m. at Cave Hill School.

This week, we have themes for each day. The Rundown for Spirit Week is:

Friday - Blue and Gold!

The HGS Jazz Band performed very well at States this past weekend, earning an overall rating of "2" with "1" being the highest you can get. All the soloists received "2" ratings, except Lauren Hale who received a "1." Excellent work students, and Miss Devereaux! Also, thank you to our chaperones.
