Mr. Enman, who has been principal at Hancock Grammar School in the past, is joining us to kick off the year as Mrs. Vose is on maternity leave. He will be running things until mid-October, please make him feel welcome!
We are working on improving student attendance this year. September is attendance awareness month, and we will be sharing important attendance information throughout the month.
As we kick off Attendance Awareness Month, we hope you’ll join us in learning more about how to reduce chronic absenteeism. Common sense and research tell us that for students to learn, they have to come to school.
Chronic absenteeism is missing 10 percent of school days for any reason – excused and unexcused, including in-school suspensions. Based upon research, it marks the point when students start to fall behind academically because they have missed too many school days.
