I am excited to be working with grades K-8 at Ellsworth Elementary Middle School this school year. For the past two years, I have had the pleasure of teaching gifted and talented for Ellsworth Middle School, Ellsworth High School, and Sumner Memorial High School. My main goal is to ensure that every student who has been identified for the gifted and talented program receives services that help each one explore his or her academic potential. In addition to working with your student’s classroom teachers to provide the best possible learning environment, I will also be working with your student to design and/or provide further academic challenges.
I hail originally from Eastport and am excited to be able to live and work in Maine. In attending graduate school, my hope was to be able to take what I had learned from nationally and internationally acclaimed scholars and bring it back to where it is needed most, schools that serve the great students who reside in Downeast Maine. I have a bachelor’s degree in classics from Bates College, and a masters degree and a doctorate in educational psychology and gifted education from the University of Connecticut. I have a wide range of interests and am always eager to learn something new. I look forward to be able to learn as much (or more!) from your student as I hope he or she learns from me.
