77 Days of Summer Reading Challenge!

According to current research, students who do not read over the summer can lose as much as 22% of their reading level.  That can mean up to 2 months of school down the drain!  The good news is that the number of books read during summer is consistently related to academic gains.  Because we understand that summer reading is essential to ensure high literacy levels for our students, EEMS has developed a comprehensive Summer Literacy Project that includes an exciting 77Days of Summer Reading Challenge!

Kids...your challenge...if you choose to accept it....is to engage in a literacy activity each day of the summer...and, there are 77 sweet, sweet days.  For every 7 days that you read or work on some type of literacy activity, you will receive one ticket.  Each ticket you return will be entered into our Fall Literacy Celebration Day drawing for fabulous prizes.  What's more, keep track of every book you read between June 18th and September 5th and earn an additional ticket per book.  But wait....there's more!  You can get started today!  When you fill out and return the 77 Days of Summer Reading Challenge pledge you will get your very first ticket, just for signing up!

Ask your child to see the brochure and get signed up today!
