Ellsworth Sestercentennial

Students in Mrs. Hasting's and Mrs. Twitchell's Social Studies classes submitted posters depicting history and information about Ellsworth in celebration of the Ellsworth Sestercentennial.

Huge congratulations to EEMS 4th graders Gillian McFadden and Blake Wallace for their participation in the Sestercentennial- a celebration of Ellsworth's 250 year old history. Dressed as Harry Washington, an Ellsworth blacksmith from colonial times, Blake delivered many interesting facts about the importance of the blacksmith trade in the early 1800's. Gillian recounted the events of the 1923 Union River flood that destroyed the bridge on Main Street.
Each student was awarded $50 dollars in “Chamber Bucks” that their classrooms will put to good use. WAY TO GO!!!

Students in Mrs. Twitchell's Social Studies classes submitted posters depicting history and information about Ellsworth in celebration of the Ellsworth Sestercentennial. Here are the winners from left to right Grace Broughton, Lilja Hansen, Lillian Frank, and Chase Johnson.
